Our story.
After years of writing, an author should be able to look forward to the next chapter.
After years of hard work, research and writing, Harsh Bavaliya felt the happiness an author knows when a manuscript is finally ready. He hoped that his books would soon reach readers. Finding a publisher seemed like the next step in a journey he had already given so much to.
When he approached a few traditional publishers, that excitement gradually gave way to uncertainty. Progress was slow, replies sometimes did not come, and he could not always understand where his manuscript stood or what would happen next. What had begun with hope became a wait without a clear answer.
Harsh spoke with other writers to understand whether they had faced something similar. Many told him that this was simply how the process worked. Some described waiting two or three months just for an initial editorial assessment of a draft. It saddened him to realise that other authors had come to accept this uncertainty as part of getting a book published.
Who helps the writer after the writing?
He began asking himself: should an author have to spend so much energy finding a way to publish after spending years finding the words? Was completing the manuscript only the beginning of another struggle?
He also explored self-publishing. The options he considered involved upfront costs, while much of the responsibility still rested with him—from arranging editorial review to coordinating design and the other stages of preparing a book. He wondered what happened to a writer who had a worthwhile manuscript but did not have that technical knowledge, the money, or someone to guide them through those decisions.
A writer may know the subject deeply and still need help turning a manuscript into a finished book. Harsh felt that needing that help should never make an author feel less capable, or make years of work seem less worthwhile.
A difficult experience became a purpose.
Those questions stayed with him. He began to see a wider gap: authors needed careful editorial guidance, clearer communication and a publishing process they could understand. His own experience gave him a reason to try to build that path.
He wanted other writers to receive the guidance and clarity he had looked for himself. The difficulties he had faced became the motivation to help others move forward with greater confidence.
That is why Harsh foundedइसी उद्देश्य से हर्ष ने स्थापना की TheRaj Publications—with the aim of welcoming worthwhile manuscripts, supporting their preparation and keeping authors informed, without asking them to pay for acceptance or publication.—अच्छी पांडुलिपियों का स्वागत करने, उन्हें तैयार करने में सहायता देने और लेखकों को प्रक्रिया की जानकारी देते रहने के लिए; स्वीकृति या प्रकाशन के बदले उनसे शुल्क माँगे बिना।
Our first catalogue began with our founder’s own books. We are honest about that beginning. The invitation now extends to new and experienced authors whose work meets our editorial criteria. Every manuscript must receive editorial approval before publication can proceed.
We are still at the beginning of this journey. Our purpose is to build a publishing house that remembers the person behind the manuscript: someone who has given their work time, thought and hope, and deserves to know their next step.
